The Sheriff’s Office is responsible for providing law enforcement within Lenoir County which encompasses a 480 square mile area. The Sheriff’s Office also has a satellite division in the town of La Grange.
The Sheriff is the highest elected Law Enforcement official in the county, and is responsible for:
- Service of all civil process papers
- Courtroom and County Building Security
- Confinement of all Pretrial Detainees
- Management of 285 Bed Detention Center
- Transport of all Prisoners to Prisons
- Investigation of Drug Crimes
- Sex Offender Monitoring Program
- Enforcement of ALL laws in their jurisdiction
- Response to 911 dispatches in the unincorporated areas of Lenoir County
