​The Sheriff’s Office is responsible for providing law enforcement within Lenoir County which encompasses a 480 square mile area. The Sheriff’s Office also has a satellite division in the town of La Grange.

​The Sheriff is the highest elected Law Enforcement official in the county, and is responsible for:

  • ​Service of all civil process papers
  • Courtroom and County Building Security
  • Confinement of all Pretrial Detainees
  • Management of 285 Bed Detention Center
  • Transport of all Prisoners to Prisons
  • Investigation of Drug Crimes
  • Sex Offender Monitoring Program
  • Enforcement of ALL laws in their jurisdiction
  • Response to 911 dispatches in the unincorporated areas of Lenoir County
